COMMUNITY CARES PARTNERS

CWHF Community Cares Partner is how we acknowledge, highlight, and thank local businesses and individuals who embrace the CWHF, our mission and support us diligently. These partnerships are vital to our cause. Together we create shared visions and projects benefiting the horses. We offer goodwill and support to each other while working together to keep our beloved Banker mustangs wild and free.

For seven generations, the Wright Family has called coastal Currituck County home. Much has changed since original settler Jacob Wright shipwrecked on the shores of Duck, but the family still honors the farming tradition established hundreds of years ago; Sanctuary Vineyards is the product of centuries of farming experience and a dedication to producing world-class wines.

Selections include Syrah, Tempranillo, Viognier, Albariño, and Chardonnay. Sanctuary Vineyards has been a long-standing dedicated partner to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund and its mission.

Sanctuary Vineyards crafted their signature blend, Wild Pony White, a best seller, specifically to support the Corolla Wild Horse Fund.

For the last 12 years Wild Horse Adventure Tours has been taking the horse-curious to the four-wheel-drive area north of Corolla, taking their guests on a deeply satisfying journey, one in which you not only see the Corolla horses but also learn about them and their fascinating environment. Their entertaining and educational experience instills a deep appreciation for the wild species and the northern Outer Banks environment, and that’s one of the reasons that they’re so highly rated among their customers. When you tour with Wild Horse Adventure Tours, you’re contributing to the betterment of the horses and the environment. How?

  1. They offset the carbon footprint of their Hummers by planting trees in partnership with American Forests.
  2. By adopting a portion of Highway 12, they hold several litter cleanups each year.
  3. They donate annually to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund.
  4. They own acreage in Swan Beach that is preserved from development and serves as a sanctuary for the horses and other animals.

Twiddy & Company Realtors and the Twiddy family are committed to preserving Corolla’s rich history, including Corolla Village and the Corolla Wild Horses. Once an area of deteriorating structures, Doug and Sharon Twiddy recognized the need to restore the buildings in Corolla Village for future generations. The Twiddy family’s dedicated restoration efforts have helped Corolla Village remain authentic as the area nearby has evolved into the beach vacation haven that it is today. There are more historic buildings clustered in Corolla than in any other area of the Outer Banks due to the efforts of the Twiddy family. The horses are an essential part of the past and future of Corolla, so it is only fitting that the Corolla Wild Horse Fund occupies one of the preserved buildings in Corolla Village. In years past, the Corolla Wild Horse Fund has occupied the Corolla Schoolhouse, another structure preserved by Doug and Sharon Twiddy, and currently houses the only public school on the Currituck Outer Banks. The restored Gray-Lewark house in the heart of Corolla Village is now the perfect home for the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. Twiddy & Company, along with the Twiddy family, is enthusiastic to partner with and support the efforts of the Corolla Wild Horse Fund.
