The Corolla Wild horse Fund is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit. We do not receive any state or federal funding. We raise over 80% of our budget through donations, special events, memberships, sponsorships, grants, and mission-related merchandise sales. Every dollar donated helps to further our mission to protect and conserve the Colonial Spanish Mustangs living on the Northern Outer Banks. Contributions are tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations.

Would you like to make a tax deductible contribution In Honor of, On Behalf of, or In Memory of someone? This type of donation is also perfect for special occasions, including birthdays, weddings, Christmas, and anniversaries. On the form, there is space for you to leave an address and message. Donate to the CWHF Freedom Fund
Contributions to the Freedom Fund will be earmarked for land acquisition. Please use the “One Time” donation form, above, and write “Freedom Fund” in the comments box. Did you know that U.S. Fish and Wildlife has plans to install miles of barbed wire where the horses graze and live? Did you know that only 20% of Corova is developed, with over 3,000 platted lots? Help the Corolla Wild Horse Fund achieve its ultimate goal of creating a wild horse sanctuary that ensures permanent protection of this endangered breed.
Be a Web Sponsor!
Web sponsors are businesses that would like to see their name and logo appear on our web pages. Our previous website received 1.5 million hits last year and our new website is expected to exceed that number. Your sponsorship donation is tax deductible and will help our nonprofit continue to provide up-to-date and accurate information about the wild horses to millions of national and international visitors. Please call 252-453-8002 for more information.
Donate Property in the Four-Wheel Drive Area
The Corolla Wild Horse Fund currently has 40 acres in a permanent conservation easement, donated by Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bender. If we are to provide a safe haven for the future, much more land is needed to sustain the herd. The fair market value of land donated to a nonprofit is typically tax deductible for the donor. Help us maintain important habitat for the horses and all wildlife through a gift of property or make a tax deductible contribution to the Freedom Fund (a restricted fund for the purchase of land for the horses). Call the Executive Director, Karen McCalpin, for more information.
