Description
Michael Middleton is a local artist who has mastered the firing of local Currituck County clay and makes incredibly stunning pieces with it. Each horse hair pot contains a carbon impression of Corolla wild horse hair. Each pot is unique and one of a kind. On the bottom of each pot, you will find the name of the horse inscribed in the clay.
This pot was created with hair from Bonita, one of the mares of the Renegade Six harem that were removed from the wild in May of 2018 for their safety because they continued to circumvent the north fence for five months. Bonita, along with Ducky and Virginia Dare (parents to Mateo who now lives with his wonderful adopted family in Virginia), Ocean Pearl, and Kitty Hawk continue to live at the Betsy Dowdy Equine Center, the Fund’s rehab facility. You’ll be able to visit Bonita and the others when we will be able to have our open houses again after the threat of COVID.
Measures 10 1/2″ high with an approximate diameter of 5″.
Michael Middleton works closely with the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. A portion of the proceeds of each Horse Hair Pot sold is donated to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund.
