Dear Friends,
As we approach the close of another incredible year, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. Because of you, we’ve been able to care for the Bankers roaming free in the wild and provide for the special needs of those on our rescue farm.
One of the greatest joys this year was the CWHF team connecting with so many of you—whether during Mustang Mornings, our weekly open house event, at the museum or during various community outreach opportunities on the Outer Banks. Your passion and commitment inspire us every day.
As we close out the year, we humbly ask for your continued support. You are the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. We receive no federal or state funding; without you, this mission simply wouldn’t exist. Every gift you give fuels our ability to protect and care for these extraordinary horses. Together, the Bankers are thriving—wild and free, for generations to come.
We’re thrilled to share exciting news: a generous donor has pledged to match the first $50,000 raised during this campaign! That means your gift—no matter the size—will have double the impact.
Last year during this campaign, 807 unique donations helped us protect and care for these magnificent horses. This year, our goal is 900 donations. Please help us reach this milestone by giving and sharing our emails and posts with your friends and family.
Together, we can ensure the Bankers continue to thrive—both in the wild and on the farm.
Thank you for standing with us, your continued support and for your kind words, comments and emails through this past year, they encourage us more than you can know.
Story telling is central to our ability to connect our ever-growing community of supporters to the wild herd of Banker horses. Our goal is always to bring all of you as close as possible to the work that we do in service to our mission. We are thrilled to work with an incredibly talented team of students from the Savannah College of Art and Design on a documentary that will be released in 2026. The finished product is going to be exceptional! Enjoy this trailer as part of our thank you for your support.
From Sound to the Sea is a student documentary that started as a class project pitched by director Olivia Jackson. In that Environmental Film class, we spent one weekend down in the Outer Banks with the Corolla Wild Horse Fund, documenting a day with Director of Herd Management, Meg Puckett and CEO, Chris Winter. Learning about the unique area, we decided to come back, expand our research and knowledge and take this from a class project to our producer JJ Zink’s senior capstone.
In our documentary, we aim to show the ways of the Bankers horses and their fight against, and coexistence with, the growth of tourism. While this is just a trailer, we hope the clips we provide for the CWHF provide you with a look into the love we’ve gained for the Outer Banks and Corolla area.
