To protect, conserve, and responsibly manage the herd of wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs roaming freely on the northernmost Currituck Outer Banks, and to promote the continued preservation of this land as a permanent sanctuary for horses designated as the State Horse and defined as a cultural treasure by the state of North Carolina.

We have just learned of an opportunity to move our museum and gift shop, along with our offices, to a location much closer to the area where the horses roam. This will increase our herd management capability as well as provide better visibility of our educational center. We are very excited about this new prospect and look forward to providing details in the near future. Please stay tuned. With our impending move, our museum is in transition. We have some educational displays and staff to speak with at our current location. Our gift shop is fully stocked and ready for the holidays. Thank you for your support! Contact us
